Louisa Leaman is a London-based author, artist and mother. Writing credits include over twenty children’s books for Hachette, including Early Reader: The Garden and Born Free Elephant Rescue. She has a regular column, ‘Mum On The Run’, in the Guardian-Series newspaper and has written for various national papers, including The Guardian, The Independent and The Observer. In 2004, she won the Times Education Supplement new writer’s competition and has written five teaching guides, including the acclaimed Managing Very Challenging Behaviour, for Bloomsbury.
Prior to becoming a full-time writer/mother, she was a special needs teacher and behaviour consultant. She has delivered behaviour management training up down the country and is now putting this to good use, raising her own three children and developing a behaviour advice website for parents.
When she has the time, she loves portraiture. She also aspires to develop her skills as a children’s illustrator – she just needs to find a few more hours in the day!
